12.12.19 Town Hall on Progressive Tax Policy

Registration is closed for this event

Our state is struggling with record high homelessness and overdose deaths. We have growing income inequality and a shortage of affordable housing. As we end the unjust system of cash bail, we need our state to invest in services and care.

All of these issues - as well as so many more like climate change, education, our crumbling infrastructure - require investment by our state government. Yet we are constantly told our state can't afford these crucial needs.

The truth is, we have the money, and we know where to find it. But many of our elected officials refuse to implement progressive (and reasonable!) tax policies that could fund these needs. Our state is home to Wall Street, massive corporations and developers, and some of the wealthiest people in the world. If they pay their share, we could right the wrongs of our state, and care for those struggling.

We hope you can attend this meeting to learn more, and how you can be part of the fight for justice & equity in New York State.
